Assembly Architects founded by Justin and Louise Wright is gaining a reputation for thoughtful and inventive architecture. Their work is not locked in to a particular style, but is a reflection of the clients’ requirements, the nature of the site, and the tradespeople and materials available to in each place. Taking inspiration from the process of construction, they research building and assembly methods and develop innovative communication and documentation methods in order to achieve clever design solutions. Their work and practice has also been widely published inlocal and international books and magazines. In 2012 they were awarded New Zealand Institute of Architecture awards for projects in Wellington, Auckland and Arrowtown that ranged across public, commercial, and hospitality building types.
